This course is an introduction to databases and related topics. Presented material aims to improve student’s appreciation of the importance that data technologies have in modern society and economy and the way these technologies are employed by businesses and organizations. During the course, students will learn how to use and implement databases, use relational database management systems, analyze and record the structure of data in business problems, design the conceptual model of a database through entity-relationship diagrams, learn about database normalization, perform the steps required to implement their design using a database management system, learn to use SQL, etc.
